Early Grade Reading in Nepal
The Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Education began implementing the National Early Grade Reading Program (NEGRP) in 2015. This national program is focused on ensuring that all Nepali children develop strong reading skills and habits. USAID has supported the NEGRP through the Early Grade Reading Program (EGRP), a USAID program implemented from 2015-2020, and EGRP II, which was implemented from 2020-2022.
